今晩のNHKの TV番組。7時のニュースの後の番組で、シロクマの子供を育てる飼育者とその家族という話である。食後の家事をしながら断片的に見ていた。もちろん可愛いシロクマの子供で美しい場面もあり、北極のシロクマが人間が出したゴミを食べることができて繁栄しているという矛盾した場面を思いだしてみたり、真面目に観ていなかったが、一つ面白い個所があった。

 

そのシロクマの子供を躾けるときに、「突然ヒステリー始まり」という言葉でシロクマの子供のトラブルを書いている場面があった。動物の子供でメスの「ピース」が「ヒステリー」になるという記述である。実際に映像を観たけれども、たしかに「ヒステリー」とも言える、非常な不安で泣き騒ぐという感じであった。良いとか悪いとかいう問題ではなく、動物の子供がヒステリーであるということを覚えておく。
