Appendix 1 医学史研究の基本文献案内
1) 基本的なレファレンス：主題や時代・地域ごとの研究ガイドと文献案内の形式を取っているレファレンスは以下の3点である。

4) 教科書・一般書
教科書は2種類、ケンブリッジからの2巻本と、Open Universityからの4巻本。いずれも水準が高く、特にOUは教育効果も高い。

必須の基本サイトは2つ。イギリスのウェルカム図書館のサイトとアメリカの国立医学図書館の歴史部門。

NLMの「シラバス・コレクション」は、1990年代から2000年代にかけて、アメリカ・イギリスの医学史の教師たちによるシラバスを教員別、主題別などで集めたもので、当時の教員が学生に読ませたいと思った書籍・論文などが分かる。

6) 学会と雑誌
英語圏の医学史の学会は、アメリカ医学史学会 (American Association of the Historyof Medicine)と、イギリスの医療社会史学会 (Society for Social History of Medicine)が規模も大きく、Newsletter などによる会員間の情報交換も非常に活発である。日本においては、日本医史学会が最大の学会であり、特に人文社会科学との関係づくりにおいては英米の学会の活動には及ばないが、着実に前進している。雑誌としては、アメリカ医学史学会の機関誌であるBulletin of the History of Medicine,医療社会史学会の機関誌であるSocial History of Medicineの他に、Medical History と Journal of the History of Medicine and Allied Sciences の4つの雑誌が主要なものである。日本医史学会の『日本医史学雑誌』は、一時期は学術雑誌としての質がかなり低下したが、近年において改善・向上している。医学史に特化していない学術誌においても医学に関連する特集が頻繁に組まれており、このような情報は随時メーリングリストやSNSなどで共有されている。
