Ken Daimaru on military medicine in the Russo-Japanese War

Daimaru, K. (2017). Preserving the Health of the Army in Modern Japan.  Military Medicine in the  Russo-Japanese War.  . (PhD), University of Paris, Nanterre / Birkbeck, University of London, Paris /  London.

Dr  Ken Daimaru has just received PhD from University of Paris, Nanterre in 2017.  He has also written its English version (about 100 pages) which was submitted for the examiners at Birkbeck, University of London.  The subject of his thesis is the experience of military medicine during the Russo-Japanese war.  I read only the conclusion of his English version and am impressed at the framework of contexualizing the injuries and diseases in the battlefield into the industrialization of the nation and the modernization of medical profession.  Several photographs of soldiers who were seriously injured on their bodies look like an anticipator of the European bodies in the First World War.  Dr Daimaru will first publish his thesis in French, and I am really looking forward to reading his works in English or Japanese.
